Product Catalogue Dashlet: Extend Search Parameters

Hello Devs,

I would like to add the field 'mft_part_num' to the search function of the Product Catalogue dashlet. According to this, results should be returned both when entering the name and/or the part number. Where can I extend the search function? So far I have not been able to find anything. Do you have any ideas?

    Sugar has taken up the theme as an idea, but there probably won't be an implementation anytime soon. That's a pity, because the way described by André is too complicated.
