Duplicating Notes Module

Can you explain your Use Case?

I need a module that "looks and feels" like the notes Module (because that was users are use to) to enter in when users share marketing materials with customer about different product lines sold by different divisions within the company. It was requested that this be its own separate module to run reports off of. Does that make sense? 

Would creating custom relationships between Notes and your customer modules be enough to filter the reports results?

I believe management wants a separate module to keep permissions simple. But I will do this if I can not build a module. Thank you!

Although not quite what you asked for... depending on your use-case, you might be able to use the Comment Log for notes, or create a custom module using Module Builder that follows the Documents template.
