SugarCRM for Developer

Hi everyone,

Hope you all having a good week. I have a question on SugarCRM journey. Sugar uses mainly Php and I am computing graduate with just a basic knowledge on php. So to get the grasp of SugarCRM what would you guys advice on how I start my SugarCRM for developer learning journey?

Any tips on what course I should enrol in etc?

Thank you

  • To work with Sugar you will need a good grasp of three main things:

    • PHP
    • Javascript
    • the Sugar Framework

The resources others have given you are great starters. I especially like the Sugar Developer courses (see 's answer)

and the more recent posts by in his Sugar Developers guide (see 's answer)

A sometimes overlooked resource, in my opinion, is other people's questions right here on the SugarClub DevClub.

Look for developer questions, and even if you are not interested in doing that same thing in your own instance, try to solve their problems. See if you can find some that look "easier" to start with, some questions get pretty complicated Slight smile Or look for some that have confirmed answers and see if you and follow the thread and understand the proposed solutions. Some people will post full instructions with code when answering questions. See if you can figure out how and why they are using what they use to answer the question.

    And finally ASK!
    Ask questions right here!

We all have to start somewhere and we all were exactly where you are today.

    Good luck!

And welcome to the land of Sugar!
