Mobile Devices module

Question

Hi all, 
 Stumbled across the Mobile Devices module but can't find any documentation about it. Can anyone explain the purpose of it? It doesn't seem to be an effective indicator of which users are actually using the mobile app.

Hi Dave Hodgman , 
 I was looking at bug #89243 which states "Since this is a hidden module to manage mobile notifications," similar to what Jeff Bickart was saying. If you came across it due to assignment notifications from the module, please note that the bug report has a temporary workaround until this is fixed in an upcoming release: "Go to Admin > Configure API Platforms and uncheck the checkbox for the 'mobile' entry"
