Campaigns - How to edit standard style sheet

Hi Everyone,

Does anyone know if it is possible to edit the standard style sheet for email templates in Sugar? We would like to create a custom style for our companies branded colors. If anyone has the specific file path to reference this information it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Dan

  • Most email clients do not support a <link> tag for external stylesheets, i.e. styles are actually contained in each individual email (inline). Different email service providers deal with this challenge differently.

In Sugar Pro, either create a record in the Email Templates module, or just select a previously configured email with your corporate colours/styles. Users can create from the template or copy/duplicate the previously configured email to create a new email, so that it inherits all the styles you configured in the template, or the first time.

There's not a lot there to enforce that behaviour/process ofcourse, so instead, I suggest putting in controls in the campaign creation/sending process - e.g. someone QAs your outgoing emails/campaign set up until the habit/discipline is adopted by all the folks in your marketing team.

  • Thanks Adam, I didn't know if we could edit TinyMCE to create out own style within an email template. We saw that when creating a campaign template you can pick predefined formats in the "Paragraph" or "Font Family" section as shown below.

  • I understand. If you click the little HTML button in the top right of TinyMCE when using the highlighted dropdowns, you'll be able to see exactly what they do is wrap basic HTML tags around the content, i.e. selecting Paragraph will put everything inside a <p>, if you select a font family, it'll put <font style="font=family: Arial... etc.

While TinyMCE does have extensive configuration options documented publicly (see https://www.tiny.cloud/blog/keep-your-brand-consistent-with-tinymce/), these would generally require you to get the latest version of that library, and some further hoops to try and run that in parallel with the version of the library shipped with the product, and then to repoint things like the Email Templates etc back to it. It is not what I'd consider a good direction to invest time in given your comment in the other thread about evaluating Mailchimp / marketing automation.

  • Agreed. Thank you!

  • Hi Adam,

You can create an Email Template totally customized, and from Sending/Editing Email (Emails module) you can select the template, of course, you need send emails from SugarCRM Platform, but anyway, in this link you can find something about respecting:
