B2C configuration

In reviewing B2C configuration in the Support Knowledgebase it leads me here.

"You can also choose to configure Sugar for a B2C configuration as covered in our Developer Blog."

I cannot locate the minor code change in the blog. Can someone assist me in providing this information or point me to the existing documentation? Beloe is the link I followed.

  • Hello Malcolm
It was possible in Sugar Enterprise; it should be possible in Sell or Serv :)

For e-commerce or retail businesses, to make an "Account" as a not required field works well.
But if a business model requires differentiated "household" and "individuals," (bank, insurance, telco, ...) the Account stays as a required field and should be customized to reflects customers' data of all types, or, if it's easier, you should customize a "Contact" to reflect data about households. It depends, but it definitely possible :)

Unfortunately not if you want to use the Quotes module to hold the ecommerce order details, as the current solution still requires it to be related to an Account.

Ideally the core Sugar code should instead allow for either an Account or a Contact to be mandatory if CRM is configured to the B2C scenario
