Preparing for the Sugar Developer Specialist exam - Office Hours - Recap

On May 1st, we led a session on Preparing for the Sugar Developer Specialist Exam.

and I led the discussion this time around. Becoming a certified Sugar Developer is an important milestone for anyone wanting to build a career around implementing Sugar. It is also a requirement for our channel partners to keep a certain number of certified people on staff.

Session Highlights

There's a Sugar Developer Specialist section in the Training & Certifications space in SugarClub with all the information you need to practice and register for the exam.

We discussed the list of topics and knowledge you will need in order to pass the exam. Keep in mind that the exam is meant for those who have practical experience developing customizations for Sugar. Studying the Sugar Developer Guide is a useful preparation step but you will need some months of Sugar developing under your belt as well.

Did you know that your developer certification expires after 2 years? We update the exam every couple of years to keep it fresh with the latest Sugar capabilities and current development best practices. If your certification has lapsed, you should take the exam again to make sure you're skills are still sharp!

Finally - we ended the session with a live interactive quiz using sample questions from the Sugar Developer Specialist exam. Check out the recording below to see how everyone did!
