Forecast set up

Hello,

I just updated SugarCRM to 12.1 version and now I am trying to set-up Forecasts.

I understand that the Forecast fields that are the summary of opportunities, so Forecast, Included Pipeline, Excluded Pipeline and so on are pulling from the Total Value field on revenue line item - is that correct?

Is there a way to change it? In our organisation, we are forecasting ARR, not total contract value, so now all numbers are incorrect.

I think an alteration like that will go beyond Forecast Configuration, I was not able to find anything on what I want to do here: support.sugarcrm.com/.../

Best,

  • Hi Ada,

    Great question!

The metric tabs on the 12.1 forecasting page sum fields from the Opportunities module - "Likely", "Forecasted Likely", and "Lost". Those Opportunity fields are rollup conditional sums from the revenue line items' "Likely" and "Forecasted Likely" fields.

I'd recommend using studio to adjust these calculations so that you can forecast on ARR rather than total contract value. For example, you could add a "Likely ARR" field to revenue line items which divides Likely by the line item's duration in years, then change the Opportunity's Likely field calculation to sum Likely ARR from the line items. Doing the same for "Forecasted Likely" should then make the metric tabs display ARR values.

    I hope that's helpful!
