Web Tracking and Bots

Hello Community,

With the Sugar Market Web Tracking, does the web tracker automatically filter out Bot traffic from any web page view?

I know within settings we can remove web traffic based on IP address, but so far I've been unable to find anything related to Bot traffic.

  • Hi Justin,

The web tracking code will pick up on all web hits including bots and web crawlers. There is no way to identify and remove bot hits from the web analytics. These bots change IPs and therefore it is hard to prevent the hit from being recorded,

As you mentioned, if you have specific IPs you want the tracking code to ignore you can use the IP Address Rules. Hits from the IP address or range will not be shown in the web analytics.

    Thanks
