DocMerge - Quotes module - How to handle comment line with quoted line items

Hello,

I am wondering how to handle Quotes template using DocMerge.

On the definition screen, you can organize your quote details with group (bundle), quoted line items and comments.

My problem is that I don't know how to manage the comments and display them in the correct position according to the quote definition.

Any sample template is welcome.

  • Hi Fred,

    Unfortunately there is no good way to organize comments and products.

    This is an example of how you can get comments and products from a product bundle:

    {#product_bundles}
      {name}
      {#product_bundle_notes}
        {description}
      {/product_bundle_notes}
      {#products}
        {name}
      {/products}
    {/product_bundles}

  • Hi ,

    I was hoping that someone found a way to mix COMMENTS and PRODUCTS together in order to be abble to generate a quote document that reflects the screen configuration.

    I suggest that they should be a "dynamic" additionnal array build for quote printing, that merge comment and product line, so user can generate a template using the current product or comment array, but also the merge one if required.

  • That would be a nice improvement for sure. If you want to share your interest for the feature request, you could contact Support so they can file an idea that will be used to track all requests for it. Sorry we don't have the capability right now though!

  • This **BUG** really needs to be addressed before DOC MERGE will be any kind of a viable way to send an estimate.

  • Just curious if you have seen any traction on improving this? We made a case for it months ago but have not heard much about fixing it.

  • Hi , it looks like the issue now has a status of Under Consideration: issue # 92299

    To understand what the statuses mean, if you aren't already familiar, check out this section: Issue & Idea Statuses.

    As a result, there is no specific timeline for addressing this at this time, but the team is aware of it and would like to address it. Sorry I don't have anything more concrete to share, but as long as people continue to contact Support if they are affected by this, the Product team will be able to gauge the impact and prioritize it as soon as they can.

    Thank you for your patience and for contacting Support about your concerns! It helps the team understand the impact of this particular issue.

  • 7 months later and still a bug under review. How do others make quotes without using comments?

  • Delete this if you want but at least I will have said my peace!

    Yet Sugar continues to make major release updates, which include the same old rehash of previously announced version updates and try to pull off minor improvements as wonderous enhancements, when actual BUGS like this are sitting around. Maybe we can start to fix problems someday, instead of reinventing the wheel and calling it an update!

    How the heck is the rest of the user base sending a quote with comments or options? We can be the only two companies...

    Bugs like these are become an infestation if you don't fix them!

  • Hi  ,

    In addition to the replies from  and myself on your comment on  RE: Action Button - Email Templates with attachments , I want to add that I've touched base with the Product and Engineering managers here at Sugar about issue 92299 to get an update about the status and help try to raise the priority. I should have more information next week and will follow up when I know more.

    Thank you,

    Alex

  •  Our engineering team is currently looking into this Issue and testing a possible fix. I'll update this thread again once I hear more from them, but I just wanted to confirm it's being actively worked on.
