Search Tags

We have started to use more tags for Contacts and Accounts.

For example, some of our clients are Tribal Prosecutors.

We don't have a field for that indicator, but want to easily search for any Account with the tag "Tribal".

I can't seem to find an easy way to search by tags?

What am I missing?

  • hi clubbers,

AFAIK, the difference between tagging data and setting dropdown for data segmentation is that segmentation is used to deal with homogeneous data - literally data of the same module in Sugar, - while tagging is used to aggregate heterogeneous data - the data of different structure and even nature, - which means "records from different modules" in terms of the software we discuss in this club

To benefit from tagging in Sugar in terms of getting the list of records were tagged regardless of its structure type (module to which the record belongs ), try the simplest - navigate to any record tagged and click on that black Tag name

in the result list you will see "a label sign" near the tag name, then use a filter and change there "All" to "Accounts" to focus on the data of a particular structure type (Account modules data)

    I hope this helps

  • Hi ,

Based on your screenshot, I believe you entered the search term and hit Enter to go to the full result set. To search by tag in the global search bar, enter the search term but do not hit Enter. The search will trigger automatically to give a screen like the following:

Then select the tag at the top of the list and the search will be refined to only return records with that tag:

You can modify the modules searched from this screen by clicking the arrow next 'All', or you can hit Enter at this point to refine the search on the full result screen.

This avoids the need of finding a record with the desired tag to then click the tag and search for all records with that tag.
