How to setup inbound email configuration for MAPI protocol in Sugarcrm CE?

Hello everyone,

I'm running SugarCRM Community Edition 6.5.17. I have setup outbound emails which works smoothly using SMTP protocol.

I'm having great difficulty setting up the inbound email though! Our company has Microsoft Exchange 2007 serverand due to company policy they are not allow to turn on either POP3 or IMAP services in Exchange. Only MAPI is available. Now, I am confused how to work it out. Because Sugarcrm only allows POP3 and IMAP.

In some forums, they advised to make some changes in core files. They also provide some link, where the code is written, but it seems that that link is not working.

Can anyone help me to let emails come in sugarcrm using MAPI protocol? I only want to let emails come in Sugarcrm and nothing special. So, please guide me on this soon.

Thank Fletch. I really appreciate. But I am looking for a plugin which is for free. OR give me some hint where someone achieved the above mentioned goal.

Sugar supports only IMAP and POP3 out of the box.
To implement a new mail receiving interface like MAPI takes about 1-2 months of development (perhaps more).
To get such a solution for free is very unrealistic.
Speak with your IT department and ask them again to open the IMAP protocol.
