Reassign Users

Is there a way to select certain Opportunities and reassign to different Users on one screen?  It seems under the "Reassign User" option, it is all or nothing.   

List of opportunities with a selection box choose only those selected and then choose a User, then make another selection and choose a different user.

  • I would do that with configuring - I would use Logic Builder to draw reassignement logic as command Tag with User specified - I suppose active tasks by target Opps should be reassigned too, right? - then just write the tag in the Opps list view to reassign the Opp along with activities that belong to the Opp to another user specified in the Tag name

    Another option that come into mind is to draw SugarBPM business rules for routing Opps to users as you need then initiate Process Definition for the list of Opps.

    That could also work

  • You can use the MassUpdate feature of the List View. Filter the records for reassignment and then select them. Use mass update to reassign.

    I believe you are just looking for updating few opportunities from one user to another user. You can do it by adding the filter in the list view for assigned to filed and filter the records and do a mass update. You can select 1000 records at one time and update them. In this way, you can update all the records.

    The other easiest way you can achieve this is by creating the report (which only filters the records of the User) and export that report in a CSV file. You can reimport these records (CSV file) by giving the New User Name in the Assigned User Name column.

  • AFAIK, mass update allows to reassign a filtered number of Opp records  to only one user at a time

    Also note - no Opp related records like open Tasks or scheduled Meetings will be reassigned along with Opps  - that's why mass update approach in this case might take time in comparison to configuring the automation. 

    However, I would agree with clubbers that approach could be considered in case of one-time operation of reassignement and for Opp only  - when configuring of automation for repetitive work makes no sense.

    Otherwise I would configure the Sugar platform to make this work for me regularly
