It seems default behaviour is to lock this field at all times from within Quote module. Anyone able to provide a solution

RE: Line item Cost field to be editable within Quote

Hi,

I am facing the same issue here, after saving the Cost field is not even clickable to edit.
Does anyone know how to make it editable again?

Thanks in advance!

RE: Line item Cost field to be editable within Quote

Hello,

Could you provide more details about your use case and how specifically the quotes module is employed?

Frankly it's not obvious why to look into costs field editing while solving discounts to depend on types of projects.

RE: Line item Cost field to be editable within Quote

Hi Jenny,

We cannot do this through Studio. We have to override the Sugar default Read-only behaviour for this field by extending into the custom path. You can extend Dependencies into the custom folder of the Quoted Line Items module and do it. You no need to have DB access to do it. You can do and deploy the customisations to your instance through packaging.

Hope this information helps.

Thank you.

I have found your question and we have the same desire to do this as we offer further discounts for our customers depending on the type of project they are buying from us.

Can someone advice if this possible to do within the crm admin/studio setting or can sugar make this available to change in a later release? We are cloud based and don't have access to db files.

Regards,

So you have to override that dependency in upgrade safe manner to make it editable.
