Unfortunately not if you want to use the Quotes module to hold the ecommerce order details, as the current solution still requires it to be related to an Account.

Ideally the core Sugar code should instead allow for either an Account or a Contact to be mandatory if CRM is configured to the B2C scenario

It was possible in Sugar Enterprise; it should be possible in Sell or Serv :)

For e-commerce or retail businesses, to make an "Account" as a not required field works well.
But if a business model requires differentiated "household" and "individuals," (bank, insurance, telco, ...) the Account stays as a required field and should be customized to reflects customers' data of all types, or, if it's easier, you should customize a "Contact" to reflect data about households. It depends, but it definitely possible :)

Hi David,

Looks like some of our docs need to be updated. I don't recall what the old blog may have referenced but there is a SugarConfig setting that is useful to use when trying to use Sugar in B2C business.

Basically, you can disable the requirement that Opportunities, Contacts, Cases, and Contracts require an associated Account. Setting the 'require_accounts' option to false will make the Account Name field optional for these modules.
